In our pursuit of maintaining a cohesive and polished online presence, we stumbled upon an innovative solution to unified photos – AI Headshots. As a remote-based company, we understand the importance of a unified front, and when the idea of incorporating team photos into our website surfaced, we sought a seamless and efficient solution. Enter Dreamwave AI, our chosen ally in this endeavor.
Our decision to opt for Dreamwave AI was influenced by the positive reviews we encountered during our research. The following is our experience in navigating this AI-driven photography venture.
Dreamwave AI initiates the process by requesting essential details such as gender, eye color, primary ethnic background, and the presence of eyeglasses for the individual in question. This groundwork lays the foundation for a tailored AI photoshoot.
Moving on to the photo upload phase, Dreamwave advises against submitting multiple similar photos taken concurrently in the same outfit. Quality is emphasized, with the understanding that superior sample photos yield superior results. Filtering or heavy editing is discouraged, as the AI may encounter confusion.
Dreamwave goes the extra mile by providing illustrative examples of both favorable…
…and unfavorable photos to guide users in making informed selections.
To commence the AI photoshoot, a minimum of 5 photos must be uploaded, setting the stage for the subsequent anticipation of the transformative results.
Our preference for the intermediate package was largely driven by the option for a redo in case the initial outcomes fell short of expectations. Full disclosure – we found ourselves utilizing this redo option.
In our initial submission of 8 photos, the quality was suboptimal due to factors such as unconventional angles and distortions. It became evident that meticulous attention to photo quality, facial expressions, and potential obstructions is paramount. A windy environment, for instance, introduced distortions in hair placement, impacting the overall output.
The redemption of the free redo photoshoot required a simple email to the Dreamwave team, resulting in a link to submit a revised set of photos. This time, we submitted 10 photos with improved clarity, direct lighting, and strategic angles, which substantially enhanced the final results. Although most of the AI headshots displayed slight distortions, deviating from the precise likeness of the individuals in the submitted photos, we were able to pinpoint three to four AI headshots that perfectly met our requirements.
However, it is crucial to acknowledge that AI-generated headshots, while commendable, do not replicate the finesse achieved through a traditional professional photoshoot. A subtle glossiness persists, and certain features may deviate slightly from reality. Below are headshot examples from real Dreamwave customers, taken from their website.
In conclusion, our exploration into the realm of AI headshots with Dreamwave AI was a journey characterized by valuable lessons, necessary adjustments, and ultimately, a successful outcome.
